He's in a better place?

We hear it all the time, "He (She) is in a better place." The common thought is that everyone who passes from this life goes to a better place. Hollywood, TV shows and books all back it up, accept for that one book, the Bible. Mark Twain once said that a lot of folks bothered him with things in the Bible that they just didn't understand, "It's the things I do understand in the Bible that bother me!" said Twain. Being a Christian means you have to be a little smarter than a fool. The fool hath said in his heart, "There is no God." We must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. We also know there is punishment for those who have not inquired at his temple. Rejecting God as creator is one thing but the fact that God sent His only Son, Jesus to die for our sins we were born with and have after wards committed makes rejecting God's word even more damning. (literally) I don't think any preacher likes to preach about hell, but Jesus talks much about it and why are there so many real, horrible things that happen here on Earth if they are not to warn us of an even worse final end? We often spank a child who keeps running out in traffic to show him that this is not going to be tolerated, "You could get killed out there!" What kind of loving God would send people to hell? Rather, what kind of Loving God would not warn us of a hell, not meant for us, but chosen by us, If we neglect so Great salvation!
