The Great Debate Fizzels..

Well, I think the Ecumenical Movement has been set back a few decades..I Hope! This has been a small scale model of the problem Israel faces today. Three major religions all claiming rights to the same turf, but all three can't be all right either one of them is or none of them is. I was only giving Jewish readers a reason for the hope which is within me as I am told to do, they thought I was trying to win converts (but I would like see More Christians walk worthy of the profession of faith) The problem is We love their Holy Books but they hate ours. They say nothing in the New Testament can be true, if so, Israel is doomed since the NT says it will be saved, and they will have no one ruling from Jerusalem with a rod of iron, because that is promised in the New Testament, too. A Jewish state also goes against the Muslim ideas of supremacy, so we have all three religions all claiming to be right. It will ultimately come down to the Almighty making His move to show everyone who is right! Wars have not settled it, arguments have not, we can't agree on Scriptures, what is left? Let the G-d who splits the Mount of Olives be G-d! We are living in a Great Time. Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

The Great Debate continues!

No offence taken or intended. G-D gives us free will to believe and do what we want. The Yetzer Tov and Yetzer Ra. This is what makes us in his image. To me, the hypocracy of Xtian religion stems from it's profession of belief in G-D and their supposed belief and following of H-S commandments as given to Moshe. Yet, they worship a dead human and a wooden cross. This is nothing more than pure idolatry and an abomination to G-D. They teach the Torah (their Old Testament) in stories. Yes, the Talmud can be considered as opinion. But, it is the opinion and interpretaion by learned Rabbis that spent their whole lives in the study of the Torah. It is no less an opinion than the sermon given by a preacher on Sunday. The sermon is his opinion.

I was trying to find places where we could agree such as, we were created in G-d's image (as you point out). If I gave my photo to a friend and later found it tacked up inside his garage being used for a game of darts, I would conclude that our friendship had a problem or two. Those who claim to love G-d, but hate people (especially H-s people) created in H-s image do not know love or Hashem (G-d).

I can no longer claim to be a non-Talmud reader as I found English PDF translations free at http://halakhah.com/ just a few days ago.

First, billbillt, you claim that we worship a dead person, But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have you not read, "I am the G-d of Abraham, and the G-d of Isaac, and the G-d of Jacob"? G-d is not the G-d of the dead, but of the living. And as for the Messiah, is He not the son of David? But then why does David call Him Lord? Saying, "The Lord (G-d) said unto my Lord (Messiah) Sit thou on my right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool"? If king David called him Lord, how is he only his son? There are many that call themselves Chistian today who are "pure idolaters" as you point out, falling down to wood and stone, but a true Christian believes that G-d is a spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. We do not even "worship" the cross any more than you worship the star of David. As my grandmother used to say, "We will all know for sure one day." The catholic church used to kill anyone they caught with a bible. In Germany there was the dough bible, it would be hidden in a fresh batch of bread that would sit all day and be baked in the morning, when the family would break the bread, read some of the bible and hide it again in a fresh batch of dough. I believe that the "church world" will go back to killing believers under the anti-christ some day not long off. Zechariah 12 Talks of this as it relates to Jerusalem. But speaks of great salvation for the house of David, which I long for. But why do the families of Israel mourn at the end of the chapter? more later...

The great debate

You do not get it. As Jews we do not "fear" Jesus or the Xtian bible. They are not even part of or culture or lives. I have never even opened an Xtian bible and have zero interest in what could be written there. What is written there could not be true anyway.

billbillt, Thanks for proving my point. I take the entire Bible literally, I was told I make a "paper pope" out of the Torah, Tanach and, yes, New Testament, but so be it. We "Xtians" blew it by not paying more attention to what Jewish people believe, if we had we would have never bought the lie that Jews need Xtian blood to celebrate passover, at the same time the new Jewish "cult" of Xtianity was set adrift in a heathen Roman culture by its Jewish founders and it soon was predictably corrupted until it got to where we find it today. There are lots of "Xtians" who never open the bible either. I don't read the Talmud either, because I feel it is only opinion. I guess we are all prejudiced one way or another. But Jewish culture will always be part of my culture, not secular Jewish culture, but the biblical one. We are told to abstain from blood and things strangled or offered to idols, but I don't hear any of that preached. If you convert to Xtian, your parents will bury your cloths, If a Muslim converts, they bury him. I am closer to you than I am to the pope. You have not offended me, because I try to understand where you are coming from. The cartoon was great!

Who is behind the persecution of Jews?

The Christian book of Revelation Chapter 12 says that Satan is behind all persecution of the Jewish people, referred to as a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, with a crown of twelve stars (one for each tribe)...And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, (water refers to nations of men) that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman..and swallowed up the flood...and the woman fled away into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of G-D, that they should feed her there..I am writing from that wilderness, North and South America, USA to be more exact. I thank G-D that the Jewish people were not wiped out by our common enemy, Satan, but he is still trying. No matter what you say, I will love Israel, My king, Jesus, said, "Salvation is of the Jews" My holy books say there is an elect in Israel even now (the faithful) I know many of you (both Jewish and Gentile) fear to read the Christian scriptures, so I won't go on with more. There is a debate of who's a Jew and a silent debate of who's a "Christian" Hint: It's not the followers of Satan. 'Nuf said I think.

He's in a better place?

We hear it all the time, "He (She) is in a better place." The common thought is that everyone who passes from this life goes to a better place. Hollywood, TV shows and books all back it up, accept for that one book, the Bible. Mark Twain once said that a lot of folks bothered him with things in the Bible that they just didn't understand, "It's the things I do understand in the Bible that bother me!" said Twain. Being a Christian means you have to be a little smarter than a fool. The fool hath said in his heart, "There is no God." We must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. We also know there is punishment for those who have not inquired at his temple. Rejecting God as creator is one thing but the fact that God sent His only Son, Jesus to die for our sins we were born with and have after wards committed makes rejecting God's word even more damning. (literally) I don't think any preacher likes to preach about hell, but Jesus talks much about it and why are there so many real, horrible things that happen here on Earth if they are not to warn us of an even worse final end? We often spank a child who keeps running out in traffic to show him that this is not going to be tolerated, "You could get killed out there!" What kind of loving God would send people to hell? Rather, what kind of Loving God would not warn us of a hell, not meant for us, but chosen by us, If we neglect so Great salvation!

I Believe

The 1950s song, I Believe, was written to ease the pain of the Korean Conflict and the just passed WWII, so they say. It's been on my mind lately, so I put it on YouTube. I Believe 1950s song from Frankie Laine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxoCJz1TD70 You may not remember it if you weren't born back then.

For every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows. Sure we have hard times but rain brings the flowers. There's a blessing somewhere in everything.

In the darkest night, a candle glows. If you know Jesus, you are the one with the candle!

He hears every word and every prayer!

Identity Theft Big Time!

We all worry about Identity Theft and the turmoil it will put you in. Actually this is one of the first crimes committed...we were created to be the children of God, and the devil came along and not only stole our ID but slipped us a phony ID in its place! Drunkard, liar, slut, tramp...the list goes on. The problem is so bad that God's Son had to come down and pay with His life's blood to redeem our rightful place in God's family. If you can't call yourself a Born Again Child of God today, then your ID may have been stolen also. The devil has a hypocrite shoe, if you're not careful, he'll slip it on you.
